Okay, we have a prayer request.
We are using Chuck's VA benefit for our home loan. As you probably know, Chuck was medically retired from the Coast Guard in May. As a disabled veteran, one of the benefits is that we don't have to pay the funding fee for the VA home loan. Well, Vetran's Affairs hasn't yet rated Chuck for his disability, so therefore we aren't yet eligible to have the funding fee waived. We are talking thousands of dollars that we will have to roll into our mortgage.
Chuck has been on the phone with Vetran's Affairs and they have told him they are sorry, but the best they can do is pay our lender the funding fee once he is rated (which could be a number of months). That's great, but our monthly mortgage payment will be higher because of this. Even though Vetran's Affairs says there is nothing they can do, we know God can do it. If it's His will for us to not have to pay the funding fee, He will make it happen. Please join us in prayer that this is so.
I really feel like this is just one more of Satan's schemes in our life lately to get our focus off of what is important. We will continue to keep our eyes on Jesus and the direction He has for us.

Oh Juli, As an Army spouse I know the frustrations of waiting on the government. The only time they can move fast is when they need to deploy my hubby. Even that can be a mess. I will be praying for someone at the VA to look at your paperwork through God's eyes and move it along.
We will pray for God's favor over this paperwork and for everything to come together quickly! We are believing for this to happen!

I have to agree with you regarding Satan's attacks. Joyce Meyer always says "new level, new devil". You guys are doing so much to try and reach the lost and to get your boys home. Even in the midst of all the little setbacks, you are still remaining faithful and putting your trust in God. This is driving Satan crazy! Keep up the good work.

What percentage of disability does he have to have to get the funding?

Hi Kim,
I'm not exactly sure of the percent, but we know he will exceed it. The Coast Guard rated him at 50%, and that was only for his back injury. The VA looks at his entire health.

When my dad passed away my experience with the VA was the exact opposite of yours, they were fast and beyond helpful. I'm going to pray that your paper work gets into the hands of someone like the man who helped me.
