Heartbroken for Haiti

Yesterday's severe earthquake just outside of Port au Prince has left me feeling heartbroken and helpless for Haiti yet again.

I can't imagine the devastation there or how the people are feeling and surviving through this. The shock, the grief, the disbelief, and the reality.

I think of adoptive families in process and weep, knowing that their adoptions have hit yet another unplanned hurdle.

Life in Haiti is hard enough without another catastrophic national disaster.

Lord, please help them.

Am in shock, tears, and also heartbroken for all the people in Haiti. I pray that all nations jump in quickly to help this already hurting nation.
You and Chuck have to be painfully numbed from this horrifying experience.
I am in constant prayer.
Love,
Mom

My name is Dejanee, I am a bible student. The purpose of me writing you is to share an encouraging message from the bible. Today when catastrophic event occur many look to God, some wonder why he allows suffering. In Haiti, a massive earthquake hit leaving as many as 50,000 people dead, the earth quake destroy the country. The images that we see on the news break our hearts, and if you have family there it may affect you on a higher level. The events that occur on this earth have led many to feel that God does not care about his people. However the bible speaks of a time when suffering will be no more.
When tragedy strikes some teach that it is God’s will, the bible teaches that he is neither the cause nor does he want people to suffer. (James 1:13) When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. God is “a lover of justice” (psalm 37:28). God feels hurt in his heart when he sees the badness filling the world in the past and also the badness that occurs in this earth today,
(Genesis 6:5-6) Consequently Jehovah saw that the badness of man was abundant in the earth and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the time. 6 And Jehovah felt regrets that he had made men in the earth, and he felt hurt at his heart.

And God has not changed, (Malachi 3:6) “For I am Jehovah; I have not changed”
The bible tells us in (1 peter 5:7) that God’s cares for you. (Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away
