Any Recommendations??

Okay, so the clothing is purchased, the money is set aside, and now all we need to do is make an appointment for family pictures.

Who do you recommend?? What suggestions and tips would you give me to make this go smoothly? What time of day is best? Worst? What should I expect to spend?

Locals, can you tell me of great experiences you've had locally? Any good deals you know of?

Thanks!

We like Picture People. We've only used the one at Lynnhaven Mall, but we've had great experiences there.

Try to pick a time when all the kids will be already fed and not tired!!!!! We like mornings because Luke needs his afternoon nap. Bring lots of stuff to keep them occupied in case you have to wait .... snacks, etc.

Don't put the nice clothes on until JUST before it's time to take the pictures!!!!!!!

I hear there's this really cool amateur photographer that takes pictures by Lake Michigan. I hear she's really cool. Just so you know if you're in the area.

At least you don't have to worry much about hair! :)

I agree with Sherry about do it after they're fed, and not tired.

Bribery (like ice cream after if they cooperate) works well, too! :)

We usually go to Sears, they are good with moving targets! Go after nap time. Taking the pictures is quick, it's choosing the ones you want that takes awhile.
Ours gives a military discount if Chuck still has his. At Sears, I think if you spend around $100 (which is easy to do) you can purchase the CD of all the pics for around $10 and you get the rights so you can print them anywhere and even make your own Christmas cards through Snapfish or Walmart (if you are pressed for time).
You can always find good coupons in mailers or online too!
Hope this helps! :)

Hey Juli,

If you're willing to have photos displayed on the website, you might get a significant discount - not sure where Kristi is in her process of building her portfolio... check her site www.1eYeOpenPhotography.com. I (sadly) liked the Antonuccis' pics!

Miss you all - would like to get together this week or beginning of next if at all possible!

Love,

We have always had great luck at JcPennys. If buy a membership which is like $50 then you never have to pay sitting fees for 2 years. That would pay for itself the first time you used it. Sitting fees are about $10 a person. Then you can always get coupons in like Baby magazines for $3.99 a sheet. Or free 8X10. And you can pick diffent poses were a lot of picture places only allow you to pick one pose.
Would love to hear from you when you have some time. I know, ha ha...That is never. Love Kate
